Bob Fair is executive vice president and in charge of global field operations for Teradata. Bob leads a growing global team of more than 3,500 worldwide sales and consulting professionals. He is also responsible for global systems integration partners. With a 23-year track record of leading high-performance organisations, Fair is responsible for delivering Teradata's revenue, ensuring a strong profit position, identifying growth opportunities, and improving the speed and efficiency of operations. Fair is a member of the Teradata leadership team reporting to Mike Koehler, President and Chief Executive Officer of Teradata.
Prior to his current assignment, Bob was chief marketing officer for Teradata. In that role, he was responsible for Teradata's strategy, mergers and acquisitions, the go-to-market model, independent software vendor (ISV) partnerships, and all aspects of marketing to successfully position Teradata as the global technology leader in enterprise data warehousing (EDW). Under his leadership, Teradata increased market penetration and expanded into new industries and geographies, improved customer satisfaction and launched its Active Enterprise Intelligence solution initiative. Fair also extended Teradata's solution portfolio by developing and executing Teradata's acquisition strategy and tripling the size of its ISV partners program, including significant partnerships with major software vendors.
Since joining NCR in 1984, Bob has held various direct and indirect sales management and marketing positions. He served as Teradata's vice president of the communications industry for the Americas, where he led a team of sales and professional services associates that grew market share, revenue and profit, establishing Teradata as the EDW standard at five of the top six U.S. wireline and wireless companies. Under Bob's direction, the communications group was a center of innovation for programs and processes — data mart consolidation, enterprise data warehouse roadmap and data warehouse maturity assessment model — that were implemented throughout Teradata. In addition, he ran NCR's server channel business, establishing and launching Teradata's systems integration partner group.
Bob graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in finance from Providence College in Providence, R.I.
