Rhonda is a specialist in Data Warehousing and Business Intelligence design, implementation and operations, and has worked in this area for over fifteen years. Her clients have included Australia's major retailers, banks and government organisations, a major Korean conglomerate, and Indonesian bank, and various consulting engagements in New Zealand, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, Singapore and the Philippines. She has built data warehouse environments using Teradata, Oracle and Informix database systems, utilising a range of ETL (Extract, Transformation and Load) and front-end access tools.
Throughout her career, she has been actively involved in the delivery of training classes and presentations to Australian and international staff and customers, from many levels within an organisation hierarchy. This has included training for both technical and non-technical subjects ranging from tuning the UNIX operating environment to the organisational impact of data warehousing. On occasions this has involved either developing the course from scratch, or modification of a set course to suit local or customer requirements.
Exploring Information / Data Architecture - Metadata Impact on Data Stewardship
The Australian Tax Office (ATO) is committed to identifying the key principles to be applied in managing information and the appropriate governance processes. In discussing how the presence (or lack) of metadata can be used to improve the quality of the data stewardship process. Rhonda will draw on personal field experience and the data architecture journey at the ATO including:
