Allen Messerli has provided business intelligence vision and direction for 400 major companies and governmental agencies around the world. His recent paper on the key elements for success, "EDW Success Factors, Governance , and Organization" applies to all industries. He has also authored a comprehensive overview of business benefits, "Reinventing Business - Enterprise Data Warehouse Opportunities for Manufacturing", most of which applies to all industries. His paper "Benefits of an Active EDW for Health Care Management" covers governmental and private health care management issues.

Previously, Al held a wide variety of business and IT positions at 3M, initiating and managing many major business process improvements and corporate system solutions. He was a pioneer in global electronic commerce, holding key leadership roles in several industry and global standards governance committees. He holds Bachelor degrees in Business and Engineering and an MBA.
