Leveraging Teradata Demand Chain Management (DCM) in a Discount Department Store environment
The Warehouse New Zealand Ltd is the largest non food retail chain in New Zealand. The company recently migrated to Teradata Demand Chain (DC) Management V3.2.2 from an earlier version of the same application.
The Warehouse is a discount retailer operating a low cost retailing model in an environment where value is the key motivator for customer satisfaction. For this company, planning is a critical part of delivering a cost effective solution to our customers. In this presentation Guy will examine the strategic context of being a retailer, how a small number of core processes drive their strategy and how Teradata Demand Chain Management (DCM) enables a number of these key processes.
He will also examine some key DCM functionality to demonstrate how DCM 3.2.2 currently supports their business processes, how they are looking to make further use of it, and where they want to see it develop going into the future. Specifically Guy will look at how DCM supports processes including forecasting, key lines management, supplier interaction, international supply chain, regional Deman Chain (DC) capacity management, ordering into their stores and DCs, stockturn improvement, availability improvement and allocations. From this the company can see how DCM 3.2.2 enables the people, process and technological landscape of their business.
